简介：ANOTHER ISLAND (Outra Ilha) is a portrait of a community of Cape Verdean immigrants, who over the years, have given rise to the Amilcar Cabral neighbourhood, a collection of sometimes unfinished houses, with its vegetable gardens, created by their own hands, on undeveloped land. It is surrounded by chimneys and pipelines, on the outskirts of the industrial port of Sines, by the ocean, in Portugal. The residents came here in search of a better life, while others simply stopped by and left elsewhere. OUTRA ILHA incorporates the presence of some and the absence of others. Those who stayed have created their own roots, children have grown up without ever seeing the distant archipelago of their ancestors.
