Nina Kautsalo returns to wintry Ivalo to investigate a murder which seems to be linked to the highly secretive world of international car manufacturers’ winter testing.
Nina Kautsalo (Iina Kuustonen) has moved back to Ivalo with her daughter Venla (Venla Ronkainen). She is going to succeed her retiring ex-boss Yikorpi (Taneli Mäkelä) as the new chief of the Ivalo police department. Besides Nina wants to leave her boyfriend, the former NHL star Toni Kajanne (Mikko Nousiainen). Also, Nina’s sister Marita (Pihla Viitala) has returned to Ivalo because her boyfriend Esko (Mikko Leppilampi) works as a test driver for a local car manufacturer’s winter testing facility. Marita has invested her mother’s inheritance into an abandoned apartment building, which she plans to convert into a hostel.
When a local pharmacist is found murdered, Nina gets assigned her last murder case together with her old partner Aikio (Janne Kataja). At the same time in Ivalo, somebody tries to hijack the world-renowned electric car manufacturer Pharada’s top secret self-driving test vehicle. The hijacking goes wrong, but the vehicle disappears. Soon Nina becomes convinced that her murder case is somehow connected to this very secretive winter testing.
